The Butterfly Jacket was created as a final project in an advanced patternmaking class and was part of a multi-step drafting process.

The jacket was self-fitted from custom slopers made to Abigail's own measurements, making it a truly unique piece. The decision to make butterfly shaped lapels was a personal challenge to do a custom shape and add some whimsical flair. If I were to do this project again in the future, I would love to custom design fabric specifically for the shape of the lapels, rather than using a generic printed fabric.
