Timeless Blooms is the dress pictured to the left, a fully original creation. This garment earned 1st place in Spring 2024's draping class design challenge at JCCC, sponsored by Cottonworks Inc.

The target customer profile was provided by the class instructor and each student was to make multiple design sketches to fit the target customer, with the final design being chosen to be created in real life.

Fabrics were preselected and assigned randomly to each student. The fabrics used for the Timeless Blooms dress were a floral print cotton voile (the randomly selected fabric) and a small amount of matching cotton sateen for the bodice structure and solid black cotton voile for an underskirt (supplementary fabrics required for the design).

Students were required to drape as much of their garment as possible; Timeless Blooms's outer layer was 100% draped, while the understructure was flat patterned.
